Precinct Election Official Secretary of State Information

Wood County Board of Elections needs approximately 390 workers for each county wide election held. You could be one of those workers.

Training is provided prior to each election. Training is approximately two (2) hours. Workers are paid for this training as long as they work on election day.

Substitutes are also needed as back-up for last minute cancellations

How are workers chosen?

It is the responsibility of the central committee person to submit a list of workers for their precinct. These are the workers that are contacted first to work an election. Their "appointment" is good for one year and begins July 1st. If the "appointed" worker cannot work, we then contact any subs and / or those who have worked before.

The party affiliation of the presiding judge for a precinct is determined by which party received the most votes in that precinct in the last gubernatorial election.
