The Mission of the Court Security Department is to maintain the safety and security of the Courthouse Complex and Public Defender's Office at all times. We strive to maintain a comfortable and efficient work environment for staff and visitors. Our department executes its duties in a friendly and professional manner.

The Court Security Department has several responsibilities that ensure safety and order within the Courthouse at all times. These responsibilities include protecting all persons at the courthouse complex, enforcing all laws and courthouse rules, conducting investigations, providing first aid, and managing systems that monitor and control secure areas, fire alarms, panic alarms, and intrusion alarms.

BGSU Criminal Justice Internship Program
Every semester, the Court Security Department offers one or two openings into our internship program. Interns are offered the opportunity to work closely with the Court Security Department staff as well as many other departments within the Court System. These departments include the Juvenile Court, Prosecutor's Office, Clerk of Courts, County Commissioners, Probation Department, and many others. Students are able to gain a better understanding of the court system through the interactions between various government agencies.
