The mission of the Wood County Health District is to work to "take the initiative to facilitate opportunities for Wood County residents to lead healthy lives." Created in 1920, the Wood County Health District has a long history of protecting its citizens. Today it serves more than 120,000 Wood County residents. Guided by 11 Board of Health Members, the Health Commissioner and the employees of Wood County Health District operate on a $4,200,000 annual budget.
