Be ready for what?
There are many types of disasters.
- Floods
- Fires
- Tornados
- Winter Storms
- Spills
- Explosions
- Pandemics
No time like the present.
Disasters can occur at any time. Being prepared can help you and your family get through the event safely and with less stress.
The two most important steps are:
-
Have a Family Disaster Plan. Where will you go if you have to evacuate? What if you are away from home? What will you do if there is a flood? Or a tornado? Or a chemical spill? Plan for all types of disasters. Make sure all family members know what to do.
- Put together an Emergency Supply Kit. If you have to evacuate, you may not have time to gather important items, such as food, water, and medications. Your kit should be in an easy to grab-and-go container such as a clean trash can or duffle bag.
You are not alone.
