Medical Billing Specialist

Wood County Community Health and Wellness Center on the campus of the Wood County Health District invites applications for a full time Medical Billing Specialist.

Primary duties include:

·         Preparing and submitting claims to Medicaid, Medicare and private insurance

·         Claims follow up and payment posting

·         Verifying insurance eligibility

·         Preparing client statements

Required Qualifications:

·         ICD -9/ICD -10 and CPT coding experience; coding or medical billing certification preferred

·         Knowledge of medical billing practices

·         Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

·         Must be able to provide proof of automobile insurance

·         Must successfully pass a background check

 Experience with NextGen or FQHC billing a plus

 NOTE:  An individual who poses a direct threat to the health and safety of others in the workplace will be deemed not qualified for this position.

PAY RANGE:                                             A            (Full Time Position)

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:                 Family Nurse Practitioner/Clinical Supervisor

 

 GENERAL SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:  Under direction, the Public Health Nurse (PHN II) performs complete range of nursing actions, synthesizes knowledge from health and social sciences, and utilizes professional nursing theories and public health practice to provide direct nursing services for clients in the home and/or clinic environment.  Collects relevant assessment data and identifies specific nursing actions to achieve desired outcomes for individuals, families and groups.  Coordinates the activities and services of assigned programs, systematically provides public health nursing and education in the home, community, and/or clinic setting.  Promotes health services and programs within the community, makes referrals to appropriate community agencies, and maintains client records and charts.  Collaborates with other agencies on behalf of both the individual client and the system of services available in the community.

 MINIMUM EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

Licensed, registered professional nurse in the State of Ohio and a minimum of one (1) year prior experience in public health nursing or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.  (Bachelors degree or higher preferred).

·         Must have computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, power point, and others

·         Must successfully pass background check.

·         Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license and reliable transportation.

·         Must be able to provide proof of automobile insurance

·         Must have willingness to learn new skills, be adaptable / flexible.

Full Time Registered Sanitarian / Sanitarian in Training

The Wood County Combined General Health District is seeking qualified candidates for the full time position of Registered Sanitarian / Sanitarian in Training encompassing all fields of environmental health with emphasis in the Housing/Nuisance, Swimming Pool and School Inspection programs. All applicants must:

  • Be a Registered Sanitarian in the State of Ohio or eligible to become Sanitarian in Training as required by the Ohio State Board of Sanitarian Registration.
  • Possess good communication, written and computer skills.
  • Be able to work independently and handle multiple tasks.
  • Candidates must all possess a valid driver’s license and proof of current insurance.

Health Educator

Full Time - Bargaining Unit
Position Hourly Rate: $22.08/$22.48 during probation. $23.48 after successful completion of probationary period.

Under direction, the Health Educator develops, coordinates and implements health education/promotion programs, workshops and/or seminars for local health groups and organizations to improve the community’s ability to impact current health priorities.

Provides expert consultation and technical assistance as needed and serves as a liaison to nursing, environmental health, administration and/or other health education groups. Provides direction to achieve program and/or grant goals with maximum quality, efficiency, and cost effectiveness and to ensure compliance with applicable local, state and/or federal regulatory standards. Perform related duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Experience/Qualification:

     Master’s degree (MSN, MPH, MS) preferred. Bachelor’s degree in health education or a related field and a minimum of three (3) years prior experience in an educational/training position which includes record of at least two (2) years of progressive responsibilities, independent work and positive performance evaluations, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

     Must be proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, power point, and/or other computer skills

     Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license and reliable transportation.

     Must be able to provide proof of automobile insurance.

     Must successfully pass criminal background check.

     Must successfully pass driving record check.
