COURT CLERICAL DEPARTMENT

The Wood County Juvenile Court is located in Bowling Green, Ohio, on Gypsy Lane Road. The facility includes the Judge's Chambers and Courtroom, a Magistrate's Courtroom, the Clerical Services Department, Probation Department, Detention Center, and the Court Appointed Special Advocate Department. In 2012, the Court had 3,179 cases filed, and disposed of 3,135 cases.

Total Court fees and fines collected in 2012 amounted to $93,992.57.

The Clerical Department is staffed with six full-time Deputy Clerks under the supervision of the Director of Clerical Services.

The myriad of assignments handled by the Clerical Department include:

  •  Serving as bailiff for the Judge and Magistrate
  •  Scheduling the Court Docket
  •  Processing Judgment Entries and Magistrate's Decisions and Orders
  •  Processing all legal filings, motions and pleadings
  •  Processing and sending Court summonses and notices
  •  Handling fines and Court costs
  •  Setting up/processing all new complaints
  •  Maintaining all Court files and "prior" Court histories
  •  Preparing monthly and quarterly reports
  •  Entering data into the computer system
  •  Handling traffic citations
  •  Serving as a liaison between outside agencies, attorneys, and the Court
  •  Processing Court Appointed Attorney Fee schedules
  •  Setting up Temporary Custody motions

In addition to the assignments listed above, numerous other miscellaneous duties are handled by the Court's Clerical Staff.
