PROBATION DEPARTMENT

Mission

The Probation Department protects the public interest by providing supervision, guidance, and support to the children and families of Wood County.  To accomplish this mission, we will coordinate services and implement a treatment plan that is in the best interest of the child, using consequences that separate the child from his family only when necessary to protect the community. 

The Probation Department performs a variety of responsibilities within the Juvenile Court to accomplish our mission.  This includes assessing the individual needs of the child and their family, and developing a treatment plan that is in the child’s best interest.  The least restrictive setting is considered, and the use of community agencies and services is an important element of the family’s treatment plan.  The Department provides supervision to youth and adults who have been ordered to complete a period of Probation.

Hours of Operation:

            Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
